Patient presented with short and tight lower lingual frenum causing:
Speech difficulties
Poor food clearance from buccal sulcus
Clinical Findings
Restricted tongue mobility due to tight lingual frenum
Functional limitation in speech and food clearance
Treatment Plan
Tongue-tie release using combined scalpel and laser approach
Pre-operative Assessment
Risks and procedures explained to patient
Informed consent obtained for surgical removal of the lower lingual frenum
Anesthesia
Local infiltration anesthesia administered
Surgical Procedure
Patient cleaned and draped under aseptic conditions
Frenum released with surgical blade (15C) under tension
Alveolar gingiva dissected via sharp dissection to partial thickness
Laser used for final finishing and haemostasis
BSS x10 placed for primary closure
