What to Expect During Your Braces Treatment?"

01

Initial Consultation & Customized Treatment Plan

Your journey will likely begin with an initial consultation with a qualified dentist. During this visit, the dentist will assess your oral health, take X-rays, and discuss treatment options tailored to your specific needs.

Based on your consultation, your dentist will develop a customized treatment plan outlining the type of braces (traditional metal braces, ceramic braces, lingual braces, or clear aligners) best suited for your case, as well as the estimated duration of treatment.

Dental Check up

Addressing Dental Issues Before Braces Treatment

Before initiating braces treatment, it's essential to address any critical dental issues that may require attention. Since braces can be worn for a duration ranging from 6 months to several years depending on the individual's condition, it's advisable for the dentist to recommend resolving any urgent dental concerns beforehand. This proactive approach prevents potential complications during the braces treatment, as managing critical conditions concurrently can pose challenges.

03

Fixing appliances

Fixing metal appliences

Installing appliances is the next step if you opt for traditional braces. During this visit, we will affix all the brackets and wires necessary to commence your braces treatment. This appointment typically lasts between 1 to 1.5 hours. A fee ranging from 1K to 1.5K will be collected, which will be part of the total braces quotation.

04

Regular Appointments

Throughout your treatment, you'll have regular appointments with your orthodontist to monitor progress, make adjustments, and address any concerns you may have. Normally it’s every month, it will require less than 30 min. each visit.

05

Maintenance and Care

Proper maintenance and care of your braces are essential for successful treatment outcomes. Your dentist will provide detailed instructions on how to clean your braces and maintain good oral hygiene throughout the treatment process.

06

Follow-up Care

When it's time for debonding (removing braces after completion), our dentist meticulously checks for any lingering traces of orthodontic cement and ensures thorough stain removal. This step is crucial and often more overlooked than anticipated. As part of our commitment to your satisfaction, all orthodontic patients at Quek And Me Dental Surgery are entitled to teeth whitening upon completing their treatment, allowing you to proudly showcase your results. You may be advised to wear retainers to preserve the alignment of your teeth. Subsequent follow-up appointments are scheduled to confirm that your teeth maintain their newly corrected positions.
