Implant Maintanance

Implants require maintenance and monitoring in order to enjoy longevity and good function. We have an implant maintenance program to assure its best condition.

What is Peri-Implantitis?

This is a destructive inflammatory process affecting the soft and hard tissues surrounding dental implants.

It happens due to bacterial plaque around the implant which makes the gum valuable to bacteria infection. If plaque is not removed properly, it will cause inflammation.

If left untreated, surrounding bone around the implant can be lost and make the implant useless.

This will require removal of the failed implant in the worst scenario.

*The therapy of peri-implantitis comprises (a) the nonsurgical phase, which includes debridement by mechanical means, ultrasonic, or laser devices, either alone or combined with antiseptic and/or antibiotic agents and (b) the surgical phase, utilizing either resective or regenerative techniques.
